DEVELOPMENT APPRENTICEResponsibilities include supporting all areas of Roundabout's fundraising efforts, with emphasis on individual giving. The apprentice is given staff- level responsibilities and will take ownership of several projects, working closely with the staff to. Coordinate mail campaigns for the annual gala and individual giving. Prepare patron events. Research prospective individual and institutional funders. Maintain development files. Carry out other special projects as needed, including direct assistance to the director of development. Work on special events with premium volunteer opportunities for the annual gala and opening night performances and parties. Experience in the field will be taken into consideration if candidate is not degreed or pursuing a degree. Candidates must be detail- oriented with strong writing and communication skills. He/she must be poised and sophisticated over the phone and in person as he/she will regularly speak with donors. The ideal candidate is able to multi- task in a fast- paced environment and is interested in fundraising or not- for- profit management. Experience with Tessitura database, internet research applications and mail merges a plus. EDUCATION APPRENTICESEDUCATION APPRENTICE FOR THEATRE- BASED PROGRAMS. Responsibilities will include. Assisting in the coordination of various on- site programs including student matinees, on- site workshops, and various education events. Ideal candidates will be self- starters, have strong organizational skills and a demonstrated interest in education. GRAPHIC DESIGN APPRENTICE. The apprentice will work with Roundabout’s graphic designer the creation of marketing and institutional materials for our production season as well as internal programs and events. Responsibilities will include. Designing flyers, inserts, and marketing collateral. Supporting the design of the subscription campaigns. Assisting with the design projects of the Development and Education departments. Preparing web images. Conceptualizing and creating in- venue displays. Assisting the Graphic Designer on various projects including digital marquees, souvenir programs and the annual Gala. Experience in the field will be taken into consideration if candidate is not degreed or pursuing a degree. The candidate must have a portfolio of graphic work, experience with the Adobe Creative Programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Bridge, Acrobat (After. Effects is a plus!) as well as Microsoft Outlook and must be proficient on a MAC computer. Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail and ability to multitask are required. The candidate must have an interest in theater/entertainment design. HUMAN RESOURCES APPRENTICE. Responsibilities include supporting the theatre's human resources function by assisting with recruiting, new hire and termination processes, benefits administration, communications to staff, HR file maintenance and ad hoc projects. Specific responsibilities may include posting jobs to career boards, assisting in scheduling and tracking candidate interviews, performing reference and background checks, preparing new hire and orientation paperwork, creating personnel files, resolving issues with employee documentation, researching and collecting data for various HR initiatives, answering day- to- day and routine benefits questions, as well as ad hoc projects as needed. The Management apprentices will have the opportunity to work closely with all members of the Management Department as they prepare for the upcoming season. In addition, apprentice will help Roundabout prepare for any upcoming union negotiations. Additional responsibilities include. Maintaining artist contracts. Drafting correspondence with agents, unions, and other collaborators. Answering and redirecting phone calls. Maintaining an extensive filing system. Tracking Broadway grosses and industry trends, and other special projects. Filling house seat requests. Providing support to the managing director, general managers, and various production and facility personnel. Qualifications: Experience with Microsoft Office, strong phone and organizational skills, and a proven interest in theatrical management/arts administration are imperative. MARKETING APPRENTICE. Marketing Apprentices will have the opportunity to independently manage projects related to subscription campaigns, advertising, direct mail, and audience surveys. Apprentices also prepare for and execute numerous pre- show and post- show Marketing events. The ideal candidate for this position is a self- starter with a passion for marketing who is detail- oriented and is comfortable working in a fast- paced environment. Responsibilities include. Marketing and sales reporting. Coordinating pre and post show Marketing events. Routing internal and external advertising materials to various departments. Relaying edits of materials to the outside creative agencies. Maintaining press and advertising files. Coordinating strategic outreach for show campaigns. Taking part in advertising and marketing meetings. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field. The ideal candidate for this position will be an outgoing self- starter with the ability to multitask. Experience with Microsoft Excel a must; experience with Tessitura database, online email deployment programs and the Adobe Creative Suites a plus. SPECIAL EVENTS APPRENTICE The special events apprentice will work toward taking RSVPs for events, organizing volunteers, and coordinating the online auction for the annual Gala fundraiser. The apprenticeship will culminate with the experience of being the main point person for a Roundabout play reading. Responsibilities include. Assisting with the planning and coordination of all special events, including Gala fundraisers, opening night parties, donor dinners, institutional events, and play readings. The ideal candidate for this position will be an outgoing, incredibly detail- oriented individual with the ability to multitask. Strong computer and phone skills are a must. Previous experience with Tessitura, event execution, and mail merges, a plus. STEINBERG CENTER MANAGEMENT APPRENTICE. The Steinberg Center management apprentice will work towards assisting general manager and assistant manager of the Steinberg Center in all day to day operations of the building and Roundabout productions that take place in the theatre. Responsibilities may include. Providing support to the Steinberg Center General Manager, Assistant Manager, and house staff. Assisting in coordination of ground transportation and ticketing for celebrity artists and out of town actors and press events. Help to organize and provide all pertinent Production information to the Press Office, primarily for Playbill printing, including weekly proofing of Playbill for corrections/revisions. Assist General Manager and assistant manager with executing all Opening Night events in conjunction with Artistic and Development personnel. Assist House Manager and Assistant Manager in pre- show front of house procedures. Qualifications: Experience with Microsoft Office, strong phone and organizational skills, and a proven interest in theatrical management/arts administration are imperative.
